A market leader in Pakistan with nationwide footprint and a turnover of over a trillion rupees, seeks to appoint an experienced Chief Financial Officer having demonstrated, hands-on experience in directing financial aspects (audit, accounting and financial and corporate affairs functions) of the business and the company’s overall financial strategic plans.
The company is looking for a strategic leader who will enhance its financial well-being by planning the organization’s financial strategy, assessing financial risks and opportunities, providing projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans, and directing the staff
The CFO will drive the company’s financial planning by analyzing the organization’s financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. Therefore, applicants must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations with the goal to protect the company’s revenues and profits by reducing expenditure to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth. The position will report directly to the CEO and work very closely with all other functions laterally
Key Responsibilities: • Plan, implement, manage and run all finance activities of the company such as, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, negotiations, evaluating trends, establishing controls, evaluating financial KPIs and managing statutory compliance and relationship with stakeholders. • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team on long-term business and financial planning and implementation including mergers/acquisitions and consolidation of existing businesses • Be responsible for Governance and Control as first line of defence, ensure that robust governance structures are established to manage day-to-day operations within the charter approved by Board Group policies and procedures • Contribute to the development of the company’s financial strategy across all areas of the business by providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers. • Lead the development and use of best practices, policies, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross-team communications, and workflows. • Maximize the company’s financial performance across every department by providing support to business units to achieve organizational targets. • Manage the processes for Financial Forecasting, Budgets, and oversee preparation of all Financial Reports • Provide Leadership and Direction to Finance and Accounting Teams. Instill Group Dynamics and Teamwork through Coaching and Mentorship. Nurture Talent to Create Future Leaders. • Upgrade and Modemize the company’s finance IT system. Review and overhaul systems and procedures with a keen eye for continuous improvement through automation and digitization for revenue generation considering economic trends and internal operations. Identify areas of cost reduction through process improvement • Review and develop controls, policies and procedures to assess financial implications and related risk relationships • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and the company’s policies.
Education, Skills and Experience
• Member of a recognized body of professional accountants, local or international. • Minimum 18 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national multinational organization with at least seven years of related functional experience in a similar role at a senior equivalent position or one position below and/or current C-Suite experience. • Excellent Team Building, Analytical, and Decision Making Skills. Proven Experience with IFRS, Tax, New Accounting Principles and Auditing procedures. Excellent Communication, Leadership, and Management Skills . Proven Ability to Motivate Teams and Multitask. • Detail-oriented, Proactive Problem Solver and able to think Out of the Box • Highly Motivated and self-starter with a Continuous Improvement Mindset and Customer Service Focus • The candidate should not be more than 55 years of age as of last date of submission of application General 1. The employment is based in Karachi and is contractual for a fixed term period of three years and renewable based on performance and business need 2.
